Avon Anew Dermafull Cream

I always try out new products from Avon. I always give them a chance and hoping that one of their products would be part of my staple. They released the Anew Clinical Dermafull Facial Filling Cream last year. I was so intrigued because they claimed it reduces lines and wrinkles. The cream is easy to apply, easily absorbed and has a nice scent. However, I did not see any major changes in my skin after using the pot. Oh well, I will find another cream. Hopefully something cheap. Yay.

Ponds White Beauty Pearl Cream

I will always be fond of pearl creams. it was my lifesaver during highschool days when pimple outbreak was the worst enemy. I love this pearl cream because it dries out my pimple fast and amazingly lightens them in a week's time. And they come cheap. Winner!

Bench Body Spray in Desire

I always take for granted Bench probably because most of the clients are either highschool or college students. I felt that their scents are for the younger generation. I admit I am not as young as I want to be.

And then I was inside Bench because my sister asked me to buy a white shirt for her. And I was literally coaxed by the saleslady to try the body sprays. I like the smell of this. It reminds me of my highschool days. Carefree, sweet and clean. No wonder it is one of their bestsellers. Price is not bad, too.

Missha Super Aqua Detoxifying Peeling Gel

I really like Missha but was quite disappointed with this Missha product. It is supposed to peel off dead skin cells to reveal a clearer skin. I already used up the bottle but nothing seemed happened to my skin. The Purederm Dual Wellbeing Pack is way better and cheaper than this.

I am NOT a Junkie!

Do you have unfinished bottles/tubes of shampoos or conditioners sitting in your bathroom shelf? Soaps that are melting but unused for weeks? Do you have bottles and bottles of lotion you bought but don't use? What a waste of money, right? So how about using those without the guilt feeling of "bought but never used, what a waste!"

Make a list of your unused items and see if you can use it for other purposes. Example of re-purposed products I made below:

Shampoo-- use as make-up brush cleaner
Conditioner--use it as a treatment. I put it on for 5-10min with shower cap while I am doing other things (cleaning my room, doing the laundry--talk about multi-tasking!) then after doing the dirty chores, I take a bath. The hair felt softer after the bath. Probably the hair's natural oil came out.Good, right?

Soaps--use it to wash your delicate laundry i.e. lacey bra/panty :-)

Lotion--don't like it already? use it as a foot lotion. or share it with the family. put a bottle/tube in the kitchen or one in the garden for those times you need a moisturized hand asap!

Colognes--use it as room spray or linen spray. Nice!

Got any of yours? Share them!

Hawaiian Tropic Baby Faces &Tender Places SPF/UVB50

It was late last year that I really appreciate using sunblock/sunscreen to protect my skin from the sun. It was not yet summer then but the heat is really evident. I sweat even in an air conditioned room and my face is so flushed and blotchy by midday despite my SPF20 bb cream and my continuous drink of water. Now, I am addicted to sunscreens. Though I put layers of products (moisturizer + make-up base + bb cream + finishing powder + lipbalm) on my face, I see to it that the minimum SPF I can get is 50. The higher the better because increasing the SPF of the product makes application time longer.

I like this Baby Faces & Tender Places because it is easy to apply. Just shake the bottle each time before using. It did not leave a white cast and has a nice smelling scent. It says it is photostable and mild as water hence a good choice for me. I will definitely buy this again.

Kao Essential Shampoo and Conditioner and Treatment

I have this never ending quest to search for the most effective shampoo that can make my hair clean, bouncy, straight and dandruff-free all in one go. Most of the shampoos I have tried just made my hair clean but it felt stiff as a broom. Some would leave my hair soft but I got major dandruff probably because of the chemicals.

I got so interested in Japanese products because hey they really have good skin and they have high regards for products with excellent quality (i.e. Shu Eumura and Shiseido).

I bought this set of shampoo and conditioner to try out. It claimed to increase hair length up to 15cm in one year from the label. I do not know if I interpreted it right as I dont speak/read Japanese but the labels look like it is promoting hair length (duh).

At first I don't like the smell because it reminded me of multivitamins (syrup). Eventually I was accustomed with the smell. And I thought if it smells vitamins, then its probably good for my hair. Also I had major dandruff break-out. I do not know if it is just coincidence because my monthly period came and the stress from work was very overwhelming. And so I still tried it out. After a month of use, I saw that my hair is softer, less frizzy and my hair grew faster than I thought. It grew around 1.5cm in a month which is surprising because my hair does not grow that very fast with my previous shampoos and conditioners.

I will still use it and alternate it with my other S/C but for those who want to grow their hair fast, you can try this out. :-)

Avea Naturals Cocoa Butter Lotion

I am currently loving natural and organic products. I saw this lotion because 1. it is made of cocoa butter 2. the big sized bottle is good for family use and 3. cheap! Got this 600ml bottle for php99!!!

The lotion is mildly scented, creamy and is absorbed easily. The real test for this lotion comes during midday as it was really hot nowadays. Amazingly, it is not sticky and does not give a funny odor even when you sweat a gallon.Winner!

Block & White Intensive Whitening lotion SPF28

Another lotion to review. It claims to whitens as early as 5 days. I did not see any whitening effect on me even after I used the bottle (100mL). It left a white cast and made my skin sticky by noon time. And it smelled like a sunblock. I know it works for somebody but not for me. Will not buy this again. :-(

Cellio Natural Make-up Powder

For a Japanese products - loving girls like me, you should not leave home without this! I use this as my finishing powder after I apply BB cream.

Raves:
My face is glowy and shine-free the whole day.
It controls my oilies longer compared to commercial brands available.
It has a nice smell. It does not make me sneeze. :-)
It did not break me out. yipee!!!
I shelled out around php600 for 30g. Not bad because a little amount goes a long, long way.

Rants:
None

Many people commented of how good my skin looks when I wear this. Love love this palgantong powder!

Pantene Conditioner Japan Edition

I super love this product. It made my hair uber soft and super nice smelling. A steal for php100+ for this tube. Gonna buy more!!!

Avea Naturals Papaya Soap

I tried this out of curiosity with Avea products. The soap is mild scented with papaya not overpowering unlike other branded papaya soaps. It is hard milled so it lasted longer compared other papaya soaps. It did not dry out my skin instead it made my skin smoother. However, I did not see any lightening effects. For those who would like faster whitening, this soap is not for you.

Description and Ingredients:

Zen Zest Peppermint Foot Lotion

I am so addicted to foot products especially the minted variants. From scrubs to foot lotions/creams. I got a tub of peppermint foot lotion by Zen Zest. The smell of peppermint is exhilarating for me. This foot lotion according to the manufacturer is infused with aloe vera and vitamin E, great for those with dry chapped feet! The lotion is creamy and is absorbed easily. I usually put socks at night when I apply this. Makes your feet soft and nice smelling in the morning. So happy with this! Next time, I will buy their scrub.

Johnson's Naturally White Daily UV Lotion

I will make a review of another lotion. This is Johnson's Naturally White Daily UV Lotion 200ml. Bought this for php145.75. The labels were too small to read.

Anway, it says " To protect the naturally white skin and healthy pink glow you are born with, this daily SPF8 lotion with MP Sunscreen helps deflect harmful sunrays and prevents darkening. With Vitamin C and milk extract to help lighten and nourish the skin."

RAVES:
  • I like it because it has a nice scent
  • It is absorbed easily by the skin.
  • It does not leave a white cast.
RANTS:
  • However, it made my skin sticky during the day.
  • After finishing a bottle, I did not see any whitening effects on my skin.
  • The SPF was too low for me. I prefer SPF 24 or higher.
The quest is on for finding another lotion...

Alba Botanica Terratints in Blaze

I got this Alba Terratints in Blaze from Healthy Options. I was so curious because it received many raves from GT sisses.

Swatch:

RAVES:
  • It is very pigmented when applied.
  • It leaves a minty feel which I love (I am a sucker for minty thingies!).
RANTS:
  • It has an SPF of 8, a little low for me. I prefer SPF 15 or higher.
  • I find it drying and has a short staying power. After 2 hours, my lips felt dry and bare.
Addiction Factor: Addicted? NO.

But because of the minty feel and the cheap price that I might try the other shades. LOL

Avalon Organics Vitamin C Balancing Facial Toner

My friend Rachel raved about this product. She has sensitive skin so she goes to Healthy Options for her skincare needs. She really liked this Vitamin C toner because it made her skin uber soft and clean.

I was so curious, I grabbed a bottle at Healthy Options (under php400 for 250ml) to try it for myself.

RAVES:
  • The toner smells like a hundred sweet oranges and it does not sting!
  • It did not break me out! Hooray!
  • My skin felt soft and smooth.
  • No oilies!
  • For vegetarians, you will love this! It claims to be 100% vegetarian and is Paraben-free.
RANTS:
  • It did not make my pores smaller though.

Read on: How to Use and the Ingredients

It is still a nice buy and could pass for an HG material for some :-).

Silk Whitia Masks Haul

Got this from sasa.com. I love love love these masks!!!

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream shade 21

Although Missha is not the no.1 brand in Korea with regards to cosmetics particularly BB cream (I think Missha runs third to Hanskin and Skin79, I've read this somewhere...)

IMO, the Perfect Cover is one of the best BB creams I have tried so far.

RAVES:
  • It glides and blends smoothly with medium coverage.
  • The shade suited my skin tone very well and oil-control is very good.
  • It made my skin glowing after the first application. My colleagues immediately noticed the glow in my face after the initial use.
  • It has a high SPF of 42 with no gray cast! No need to apply sunblock. Superb!
  • The bb cream lasted on me the whole day with no touch-ups!
  • And it has a nice scent too compared to other bb creams i tried (Hanskin Super Magic BB Cream smells like paint, eww yuck!).
  • The pump is very hygienic and I can control the amount of cream I want to dispense.
RANTS:
  • none
For php800-900 (around $20)for a 50g tube, this will last around 5-6 months depending on the usage. For me, this is definitely an HG material!

The Face Shop Pureberry Clear BB Cream

I got to know BB creams a little late last year. I accidentally got hooked to online shopping because of my hubby. And voila I stumbled upon the wonderful land of BB creams. This product already existed ages ago and I am so happy I discovered them. TheFaceShop Pureberry is my very first bb cream.

RAVES:
  • It smells nice and glides smoothly, very blendable.
  • It has SPF 20 PA++ so it saves me time from applying a suncreen (and money too! yey!) Though it has a very sheer coverage, I still love it because it makes my skin dewy and glowing.
  • I also use it as a good make-up base/primer for my mineral make-up .
  • And for php450, it is a steal because this tube lasts around 3-4 months depending on how much you apply.
RANTS:
  • none
Bought this from a very generous seller on the planet, thank you Liza. For first time bb cream users, I strongly recommend this product. This is my dab-and-go bb cream. Just dab it, blend well, apply lip gloss and you are good to go. :-)

Beauty Credit Water Power Cream for Dry Skin

Beauty Credit is a Korean brand not popular among pinays. Skinfood, TheFaceShop, and Etude House are the most popular here among the Korean brands. When I got this cream from Joeanne, i was hesitant at first because I have not found any reviews about this cream nor I understand them because it was in Korean.

RAVES:
  • I opened the jar and surprisingly, it was unscented.
  • The texture is creamy and is easily absorbed upon application.
  • I am so happy because it did not break me out.
  • It did control my oilies. No oily face upon waking up! Yey!
  • The jar (around 50ml) lasted me a month with twice-a-day application.
RANTS:
  •  none

Where to Buy: see my list of shops on the right side panel

How much to shell out: around php535 ( around 9800 krw)

Addiction Factor: Yes, i will buy again but not at the moment as I buy different products to try on but it is definitely an HG material.

RAVES:
